Visas

A visa, or visa, is a legal permit issued by a competent authority of a country to a citizen of another country, allowing that person to enter, exit or transit in that country for a certain period of time. A visa is usually a stamp or sticker in a passport, but can also be in electronic form (e-visa).

Main characteristics of a visa:
Purpose: Visas are issued based on the purpose of the trip, such as tourism, study, work, investment, visiting relatives, etc.

Duration: The validity of a visa varies depending on the type of visa and the regulations of each country, and can range from a few days to several years.

Requirements: Not all countries require a visa. Many countries have visa exemption policies for citizens of other countries, depending on bilateral agreements.

Relationship with passports: Visas cannot exist independently. You need a passport issued by your national government to apply for a visa, as the visa is usually stamped or glued into the passport.
